Trish’s Story

23 June 2015

Trish Woolcock, from Leigh-on-sea, is an Administration Assistant at Carers Choice, where she has become an important member of their team. As well as working with Carers Choice, Trish does regular volunteering across Essex, including helping out at the  2012 London Olympic Games.

Trish began her Volunteering story as an Essex Ambassador at the 2012 London Olympic Games and enjoyed it so much, she wanted to continue to volunteer. After retiring, and twiddling her thumbs for a while Trish decided that she would become a volunteer, and help other people and charities in her local area.

Trish said to us that that most important thing she has gained from volunteering is “the feeling of being useful again”  through using her skills she had learnt from previous employment, to aid in the smooth running of a charities office, and giving up her time to help marshall events.
