Maldon and Dengie Stroke and Carers' Support Group provide social and peer support to people affected by Stroke to reduce social isolation and build confidence. In September 2019 the Group will celebrate their 10th anniversary.
In 2009 a small number of inspired people working in Maldon with recent Stroke survivors saw a need for ongoing support following discharge from hospital. Over the years the club has helped many survivors and their carers and has gone from strength to strength. Some of the founder volunteers are still active today and have been joined by others of similar dedication. Our goal is not only to continue to provide this support, but also to boost membership and reach many more people in the Maldon and Dengie areas.
The Maldon and Dengie Stroke Support and Carers' Group provides information and support to stroke survivors and their carers. It also offers group exercise sessions run by a qualified exercise instructor or a neuro trained physiotherapist. The group also offers a range of social activities including outings.
This group always offers a warm welcome, friendly face and the opportunity to talk to someone who understands what you're going through.
This group meets on a fortnightly basis. It also has a separate monthly carers' meeting.
