About
The objective of the organisation is:-
- to conserve, preserve, restore and interpret the internationally important World War 1 aerodrome at Stow Maries for the benefit of the public:
- to provide an inclusive, formal and informal, educational facility aimed at lifelong learning
- to provide skills development for volunteers and training/apprenticeship opportunities for NEETs in engineering, heritage and environmental management
- to conserve and provide access to the local wildlife and environment
- to contribute to the economic development of Maldon and surrounding area through tourism and events
- to provide a lasting memorial to the memory of the men and women who served during the Great War.
Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome, are proud to have received the Queen’s Award for Volunteering and now offers you the chance to join their award winning team. They continue to develop the site into one of the premier visitor attractions in Essex and their volunteers are playing a vital part in making this happen.
