Crimestoppers is and independent charity helping to fight crime in the UK through our 0800 555111 telephone number and our website www.crimestoppers-uk.org, which allow people to give information about crime and criminals anonymously.
Hundreds of volunteers across the country help to promote our services to those who need to hear about them. Each region of the UK has a Crimestoppers team responsible for running local campaigns and generating the funds to pay for them, and the occasional rewards claimed by callers. Each committee usually has around a dozen members and is made up of a wide representation of the community, business, the media and the police.
Funds are raised from local businesses, events, statutory partners and the police, to name just a few of the possible sources. Work may involve running a campaign among residents to encourage provision of crime/intelligence. Our website will show recent campaigns that we have undertaken in Essex.
