Young Carers Support Group Volunteer - Stansted

A Young Carer is someone between 8 and 18 years, who cares for someone in their family or household due to a disability, illness or drug/alcohol addiction.

Action for Family Carers offers these young people support and respite in the form of a youth group during term time as well as days out during the school holidays.

A volunteer is needed once a month on Mondays in Stansted from 5.30 pm until 7.30 pm and will involve interacting with and supporting the young people in a variety of activities. These include organising games, sports, crafts and assistance with IT/homework.

The groups are held during the school term.

As a volunteer you would be expected to be empathetic, considerate and have a fun approach. In return you will be offered an interesting and rewarding experience, with ongoing training and development, in a supportive environment.
