Young Carers Support Group Volunteer - Colchester

A Young Carer is someone between 8 and 18 years, who cares for someone in their family or household due to a disability, illness or drug/alcohol addiction. Our charity offers these young people support and respite in the form of a youth group during term time and days out during the school holidays.

Volunteers are needed on Wednesdays in Colchester from 5pm until 7pm and will involve interacting with and supporting the young people in a variety of activities. These include organising sports, crafts and assistance with IT/homework.

The groups are held during the school term.

Occasional day trips are also held during the school holidays as well as on a weekend or evening.

As a volunteer you would be expected to be empathetic, considerate and have a fun approach. In return you will be offered an interesting and rewarding experience, with ongoing training and development, in a supportive environment.
