Workshop buddy

Are you friendly, practical, and passionate about making a difference in your community?

In partnership with Chelmsford Diocese and the Ideas Hub, the Essex Shed Network is launching an exciting new community workshop in central Chelmsford, inspired by the global Men in Sheds movement. This initiative will provide a safe and supportive space for men from refugee and asylum-seeking backgrounds to come together, connect, and get hands-on with woodwork projects such as making bird boxes and other practical items.

We're looking for enthusiastic Workshop buddies to join our team!

As a volunteer, you will:

  • Help create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment
  • Chat with participants and help them feel at ease
  • Support practical woodwork activities
  • Help maintain a safe and tidy workshop space
Sessions will run weekly for a few hours (details tba) from a central Chelmsford location. Full support and guidance will be provided.

If you’re a good listener, enjoy hands-on tasks, and want to make a positive impact, we’d love to hear from you!
