Are you physically fit and used to manual work, especially lifting and carrying? We need people to accompany our wood collection truck driver on wood collections from local building and construction sites in and around the Basildon and South Essex area. Helping to load and unload our 3.5 tonne truck with wood, the work is labour intensive and physically demanding – but rewarding too and a great way of keeping fit! Volunteers need to be in good general health and physically fit. Previous experience of working as a labourer and on a construction site would be advantageous, as would a confident, polite and approachable manner as you will be representing New Life Wood out and about in the community. Health and Safety training will be provided as well as PPE (personal protective Equipment) to equip you in this role.
A volunteer induction into the work of New Life Wood and a warm welcome to the charity awaits you. For further information, or for an informal no obligation chat please call Peter Hall on 07904 150180. Volunteers will be required to complete a simple volunteer application form. Please also visit www.newlifewood.org.uk or for more information on our work and keep checking back on www.facebook.com/NewLifeWoodEssex as further opportunities will be posted over the coming months.
You will need to have a good level of fitness. Previous experience of working as a labourer and on a construction site would be advantageous, as would a confident, polite and approachable manner
