Do you enjoy peaceful moments outdoors and want to help keep our gardens green and thriving? We’re looking for someone with a gentle touch and a love for plants to help us water and care for our green spaces and conservation features across Garon Park. Whether you’re an early riser or prefer a quiet afternoon, your help will make a big difference in keeping our green space looking healthy and beautiful.
Your tasks will include watering plants in our herb gardens, raised beds, and community garden areas, while checking moisture levels and adjusting based on the weather and plant needs. You’ll help refill water containers and hoses when needed, report any signs of plant stress or pests to the garden team, and, if you're up for it, lend a hand at community events or open days.
This role allows you to enjoy the calming benefits of working with plants; learn about caring for them and sustainable gardening; as well as enjoy a free lunch made with produce from our community garden!
Skills
No experience is necessary for this role—we’ll guide you through everything you need to know. All you need is a love for being outdoors, even when it’s a bit warm or breezy, along with a careful eye for detail and a gentle touch when working with plants. Whether you prefer working independently or as part of a team, you’ll fit right in. Applicants must be 18 or older, or under 18 with permission from a parent or guardian.
