What is the role about?
You will support job seekers who need help in using IT to access and use online job seeking resources
What will it involve?
ï‚· assisting customers to navigate the jobseeker sites on library computers
ï‚· helping customers set up email accounts and log into job-search and CV builder websites
ï‚· providing software and basic technical support to jobseekers, mainly for Word, Outlook and Internet Explorer
ï‚· signposting job-seekers to other sources of help or advice
This help may be through one-to-one appointments, or in drop-in sessions offering quick help, or a mixture of the two.

There will be ongoing support from local library staff who will ensure you are kept up-to-date with all that is happening in Essex Libraries. All volunteers are engaged for an introductory period (usually 1 to 3 months depending on the frequency of volunteering). This is to ensure the volunteer and activity are properly matched and either side may decide to end the agreement at this stage.
