Come and join our team at Abberton Rural Training!
Our award winning charity runs courses on Organic Gardening, Woodland Management and care of the Countryside and Environment for people who are furthest away from employment for a number of reasons including, disability, mental health, anxiety and depression and addiction issues.
Each course has a qualified Tutor and has attached mentoring and counselling support. Your role as volunteer would be to work alongside a group of students to help them to get the most out of the course under the guidance and supervision of the Tutor.
We currently have sites in
Colchester, Tendring, Braintree, Witham, Maldon and Chelmsford. With new sites opening in Brentwood and
Hadleigh in the near future.
Volunteers should have an interest in spending time in the outdoors, growing fruit and vegetables or working to maintain the countryside but most important is a non judgemental attitude and a huge sense of humour!
Full training will be given - including the option to undertake a UKRS (UK Rural Skills) qualification.
