Volunteer Treasurer

About us

Voluntary Action Epping Forest (VAEF) is an umbrella organisation providing advice, information & development support services to voluntary and community organisations and volunteers in the District. Local Voluntary groups are assisted with fund raising, volunteer recruitment and regular information. Adults with learning disabilities are supported  with a range of activities and independent living skills. The organisation also hosts a number of direct services for older people which include gardening, benefit support for the housebound, home safety, befriending and handyman.

What will I be doing?

Oversee and ensure that the financial affairs of VAEF are conducted within legal requirements, accounting conventions and good practice.

Achieve this by working with the appointed auditor, the Board of Trustees, Chief Officer and Finance Officer.

In addition, play a role in promoting and sustaining the financial viability, growth and development of VAEF.

Volunteering as a treasurer is a good way to gain new skills and experience working in what can be a challenging environment. It is also a great way to network and to give something back. The experience can be hugely rewarding for the right person.

Financial skills

Commitment to the charity's aims and values.

Ability to communicate financial information to those who may have little or no financial background.
