Volunteer drivers are needed to support young people with disabilities to participate in social, recreational and leisure activities in their communities, e.g. bowling, cinema trips and games sessions.
Support is provided via large group activities and small Circles of Support for individuals. There is a focus on enabling the growth and development of friendships and social skills, self-confidence and practical life skills.
Accessible MIDAS minibus driver or own car driver volunteers are needed to transport participants to and from activities and possibly get involved in some of the group activities.
Training in MIDAS to drive the minibus can be provided. Volunteers are required weekday evenings and day-time at weekends. Drivers must be over 25. Reasonable travel expenses paid. Training including safeguarding and LD awareness.
