Volunteer instructor

A volunteer with DIS will be asked to support a team of disabled adults in the live projects which are on-going. You will be asked to help your team to carry out the tasks ahead of them, this could be within the gardening area, art and design or the carpentry area. We will work towards your own strengths and select projects which are best suited to your skills.

You will be supporting the team at working towards their own targets for the day and helping them to develop skills which they can later use in the wider community. Skills such as enhancing their communication or helping them to focus on others.

You will have a wonderful opportunity to work alongside some incredible people that have mastered many skills at DIS and need the guidance and support to grow, no two days will be the same, the environment is fun, lively and full of passion.

We would need someone who has experience or an interest/knowledge in either:

Every person that works at DIS needs to have the passion to support and to care for the disabled trainees that work with us. Previous experience in disability is not essential, but a caring nature is.
