Volunteer Fundraiser for local charity

Opportunity

Citizens Advice provides free, confidential and independent advice to help people overcome their problems. We are a voice for our clients and consumers on the issues that matter to them. We value diversity, champion equality and challenge discrimination. We're here for everyone.

In Tendring, we have bureaus providing face-to-face advice in Clacton on Sea and Harwich, as well as outreach in other locations in the area. We have recently joined the national CA Adviceline telephone advice service. During the coming year, we intend to offer advice by email and webchat.

However, this expansion of our services will mean obtaining new equipment and finding additional funds to meet our increased costs.

To assist the bureau in obtaining resources for the service, we are keen to recruit a fundraiser. The sort of resources we require could be:

money
help in kind
equipment.

Main duties and responsibilities of the fundraiser may include:

Identifying possible sources of funding in the community such as:
local businesses
individuals
charitable trusts.
Working with the manager to fit funders to projects being developed in the bureau.
Developing a relationship with local funders so that they are aware of bureau activities.
Developing and maintaining a database of supporters.
Developing a ‘Friends of the bureau' group to encourage and promote community fundraising.
Facilitating the fundraising sub-committee within the bureau; arranging meetings etc.
Completing draft funding applications for the management team.
Drafting publicity materials for fundraising campaigns.
Organising fundraising events.
