Volunteer Funding Bid Writer

CAVS have an exciting opportunity for a Volunteer Funding Bid Writer. The role will involve writing funding bids, enabling CAVS to start new projects and sustain our existing ones. This role is a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to develop skills in finance, administration and grants applications, whilst helping our charity grow and improve.

The role can be office-based or from home and the hours flexible to suit you and your commitments. You need to be passionate about helping your community, have sufficient writing skills, a good knowledge of the English language with a persuasive writing technique. You will need to be organised and self-motivated, and very passionate about the work that we do. Bid writing experience beneficial.

Volunteer Duties:

• To research, compile, edit, proofread and send applications to a variety of grant making trusts and foundations.

• To compile and maintain a database of national and local donor organisations.

• To liaise with management regarding bid applications

• To ensure that the layout of bid documents is correct and to a high standard

• Establish and achieve bid application deadlines

• Help identify additional opportunities by getting to know client requirements

• Research and develop funding opportunities

CAVS Duties

• To provide additional training as required, induction and ongoing support.

• To follow up any issues or concerns raised.

• To provide expenses as necessary.

• To ensure the necessary equipment is supplied for the Volunteer.

• To liaise regularly with the Volunteer.

Skills

• IT literacy (Microsoft Office, internet & databases).

• Experience in writing funding applications preferred but not essential

• Excellent written communication skills

• Excellent organisational abilities

• An ability to work sensitively and have a commitment to equal opportunities and confidentiality.

• A knowledge of the charity sector and funding within it preferred but not essential
