Volunteer Drivers - Car & Minibus

Hundreds of Chelmsford residents are unable to access public transport and face becoming isolated in their own homes and losing their independence.

Chelmsford Community Transport urgently need volunteer car or minibus drivers to help keep our members mobile.

Volunteers need either their own four-door car or a D1 category on their licence if they would like to drive a minibus for us. Duties are transporting elderly and disabled people throughout the City of Chelmsford and taking parties on outings to various destinations using our mini-buses from to time.

This is an excellent opportunity to meet new people, get to see a bit more of Chelmsford and help your local community at the same time!

This is an exciting time to be joining us as it is our 20th Anniversary Year and we are busy developing the service with some exciting fundraising events which will need help from our volunteers

Skills

Full driving licence, a pleasant personality and helpful manner. Own four-door car, or D1 entitlement on driving licence if driving one of our mini-buses.

Free Midas training available for regular volunteer minibus drivers.
