Volunteer Community Shed Support Worker

Hamelin exists to reimagine life for autistic people and adults with learning disabilities, enabling limitless possibilities.

Our mission is to build inclusive, caring, and compassionate communities for autistic people and adults with learning disabilities. By empowering and supporting these people, we strive to enable them to live the lives they choose.

Purpose of Role

Volunteering will take place at Roots & Shoots, our horticultural project in Rochford. Roots and Shoots is home to our gardening project, which offers training and practical experience to develop confidence, creativity and life skills for adults with learning disabilities and people with autism. This also gives the individuals we work with the chance to make friends and have fun with each other.

The volunteer will be required to lead activities at our new community shed, where social connections and friendships can be made whilst sharing skills and knowledge over activities such as woodworking, metalworking, repairing and restoring.
