Here at the Mental Health Hub, we offer a 12-month support placement in our charity shop for
those over the age of 18 in recovery from ill mental health.
During this time
·
Get
training in working in a shop.
·
Learn
work skills in a real work environment.
·
Build
social skills, confidence, and a network of people with similar experiences.
·
Get
help to apply for jobs or other voluntary opportunities.
·
Get
support with other activities.
·
Get
help with linking to outside counselling.
While there with us they’ll learn new
skills, make new friends, and build confidence with the help of our mental
health support team.
As this is a supported
role, they are never pressured and progress through our retail
training programme is at their own pace, deciding
when they are ready to move from behind the scenes to a customer facing role.
