We are looking for volunteers to support our successful:
• Get Fishing sessions held at Little Easton Manor, Dunmow on a Saturday afternoon. These sessions will run from April to September each year.
• Holiday Activities and Food programme – currently running also at Little Easton Manor we are looking to increase our provision with sessions in Basildon and Thurrock in 2025. These sessions are fun in the Easter and Summer holidays.
Our sessions are aimed at promoting and supporting mental health and wellbeing. In addition to supporting the young people how to fish you will be there to listen to whatever they want to talk about. This could be about their family, school, hobbies, pets etc. Through learning how to fish the young people will also be learning new skills such as decision making, problem solving, communication.
All our sessions are light hearted and young person centred. If they don’t want to fish and just want to sit and talk that is fine.
