Epping Forest District Museum tells the story of the people and events that have shaped the district through thousands of years of history. Volunteers are essential in helping us deliver a quality service to our local and surrounding community and in providing essential care for our collections.
Visitor Service Volunteers will support our team and provide a friendly welcome to visitors to Epping Forest District Museum.
This role would suit someone who is happy working with people, interested in the Epping Forest District and its collections and keen to maintain our excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
· Provide a friendly welcome to all visitors, ensuring they have an enjoyable visit.
· Process sales for items in the museum shop.
· Answer visitor’s questions and encourage conversations about the exhibitions and displays.
· Monitor and maintain a high level of presentation throughout the museum.
· Assist with the opening and closing of the museum.

· Become part of a friendly and dedicated team
You will need to complete our induction training programme before you fully begin your volunteer role. This involves core training in Health and Safety, Safeguarding, Equality and Diversity and Disability Awareness.

Availability Details
Ideally we encourage a commitment of your time each week, either a morning or an afternoon, between 4 and 4½ hours maximum. We encourage a minimum of 6 months involvement to make the most of this role.
