Do you love talking to people and sharing your enthusiasm for wildlife and your local nature reserves?
We need Visitor Ambassadors to greet visitors and ensure a great visitor experience. You'll be a friendly face representing the RSPB and an information point for visitors. You'll be talking to people about our amazing work and inspiring them to support us and take action for nature. We are interested in the views of our visitors and would like you to conduct simple surveys from time to time.
Gathering this information will help the RSPB to better tailor our offer to meet visitor expectations. RSPB Wallasea Island is open every day except for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day so if you could spare from one day a fortnight we would love to hear from you.
The biggest part of the role is talking to people; building rapport and sharing your enthusiasm for Wallasea Island and its nature, therefore you will need good people skills and be willing to approach and talk to a wide range of different people. It is important to be approachable, friendly, and be able to enthuse about the work of the RSPB. You don't have to be an expert. You simply need a genuine interest in birds, wildlife and conservation.
There is limited disability access but only to small area of the reserve. Hope to improve this in the coming years
