Vaccination Volunteers

Volunteers are needed to help with the roll out of the Covid 19 vaccination in Maldon District.

The Maldon District Primary Care Network run vaccination centre has been operating out of the Maldon District Council offices from December 2020 as part of the national roll out of the COVID-19 vaccination.

Clinic sessions run as often as 7 days a week for up to 12 hours a day. This is a huge undertaking and simply cannot be achieved without the valued support of volunteers.

There are a range of volunteering roles on offer, which for ease of preparing rotas, we have categorised as inside or outside of the premises and volunteers can express a preference. There are more details of the specific roles further in this handbook.  Volunteer shifts are broken up into periods of 4 hours (sometimes less and we try our best not to ask for more)

On full clinic days hundreds of people may attend the centre to be vaccinated. This means there is a steady stream of people arriving for  appointments or attending drop in sessions.

There are no 'sit down' roles so volunteers should be able to stand for the duration of thier shift.
