Riverview Charitable Trust is looking for motivated and passionate people to join the Board of Trustees to support the overall governance, strategic direction and monitoring of the charity. Located in Purfleet-on-Thames, we run community-based programmes which address education, safety, health and wellbeing. Specialising in working with families, children and young people, our desire is to provide opportunities for local people experiencing disadvantage to improve their lives through social and personal development by providing a place of support and learning where social interaction and relationship skills are developed alongside tolerance and appreciation of other cultures for the betterment of the whole community.
We are seeking a trustee with the knowledge and skills to take on the role of Board Treasurer.

Skills
Ideally, you will have:
- Experience in finance, accounting, or strategic financial oversight
- Understanding of charity finance (or willingness to learn)
- Strategic and analytical thinking
- The ability to impart financial and risk information effectively to a non-expert audience, including the board, staff and other stakeholders
- Ability to recommend difficult and demanding decisions to the board
- Understanding of financial, legal and regulatory requirements

Availability Details
Quarterly board meetings and action plan meetings are currently planned for 10am on a Monday. We also hold hybrid meetings, although there may be occasions when attendance will need to be in person. There may also be occasions when extra meetings need to be called as matters arise which need to be addressed in between the quarterly board meetings or if we need more time together on action plan work.
