Maldon Housing Association provides safe, comfortable accommodation with independent‑living support across three locations in Maldon, enabling 57 older residents to live well, confidently and with dignity.
We are recruiting Trustees to join a Board that plays a central role in shaping the Association’s future direction, ensuring long‑term financial viability, and maintaining high‑quality homes and services. Trustees help set strategy, oversee performance, and ensure the Association delivers value for money while meeting all legal, regulatory and employer responsibilities .
The Board also works closely with senior managers, providing support, constructive challenge and accountability, to ensure the Association continues to thrive and respond to residents’ needs.This is a meaningful opportunity to support independent living for older people in Maldon and contribute to an organisation with strong community roots and a clear sense of purpose.
Skills
As a volunteer Trustee, your professional background could come from any sector. What matters most is your ability to bring insight, good judgement and a commitment to the Association’s aims and principles .Experience in adult care services, primary care, or local government would be particularly valuable, as would previous board or committee experience. Trustees contribute to strategic planning, risk management, policy development, financial oversight and monitoring the quality of services residents receive
We are looking for people who can:
- prepare for and actively contribute to Board meetings
- take a long‑term view of how the Association should develop
- Support and constructively challenge senior managers
- uphold equality, diversity and inclusion
- help ensure the Association makes best use of its resources
- stay informed about relevant legislation and operating frameworks.
