InterAct has been supporting young people, families & carers, adults and communities across Essex for over 25 years - helping them to overcome barriers, aspire and achieve their potential.
Our services include community based clubs and activities offering fun, leisure and learning opportunities for children and young people with learning disabilities, special educational needs and/or disabilities. We also deliver a range of training including Mental Health First Aid - a nationally recognised interactive and practical training programme, promoting positive mental health - reducing stigma through education, and increasing support in communities.
We are looking for new Trustees to join our board who are enthusiastic, committed and feel that they can add value to the organisation.
If you are a motivated individual who would like to use your professional or other experience to contribute to and develop a local charity, we would like to hear from you.
As a charity Trustee, and member of the Board, you will share collective responsibility for the overall running and strategic direction of the charity, ensuring good governance and prudent financial management. You will be joining an existing group of Trustees with a wide range of professional skills and experience, and supported by a motivated, skilled and hardworking staff team with their own operational expertise and a passion for changing peoples’ lives.
As a member of the Board of Trustees you will have the opportunity to help develop the charity's strategic goals, monitor performance and to guide and support the staff team. Your time, knowledge, experience and skills will be invaluable to our continued success and will help us achieve our mission and increase our impact in a challenging financial climate.
This is a voluntary role requiring a minimum commitment to attending quarterly board meetings. Board meetings usually take place in Chelmsford. Trustees will be required to attend an induction session prior to their first board meeting.
We welcome interest in this role from people of all ages, sectors and communities.
Depending on individual skills, expertise and time available Trustees may also volunteer to take on other tasks between meetings such as reviewing policies or accounts, or attending fundraising or other events.
