Tour Guide

Taking the general public around restricted tour areas only.

Ensure tour group numbers are counted and logged (in Shifting Lobby)

Provide detailed information regarding the forts military history.

Taking and answering questions regarding the tour and the forts history.

Ensuring security gates are closed after entry and exiting the roof area.

Liaising with tour guide assistant regarding public safety etc.


Ensuring public safety at all times.

Ensuring all gates and doors are shut behind the tour group.

Assisting the general public during the tours.

Monitoring the general public whilst on the tours (especially when in the tunnels and on the roof).

Assisting the tour guide by answering general questions and queries about the tour and the fort.

Ensuring public safety at all times.

Other related duties as and when required.


None required as full training will be given but general knowledge of military history is an advantage but not essential.
