Timebank Administrator

About Timebanking

Timebanking is a community initiative which rewards volunteers with ‘time credits’ for the time they spend helping others. It’s a way for people to share their time and skills to help others in their local community, and then get the help they need in return.

For each hour spent volunteering, a Time Bank member receives one virtual 'time credit', which they can then use to get the help they need, or donate it to others.

There are many things Time Bank members can help with, from simple DIY to sharing IT skills. It's free to join and open to anyone over 18, regardless of ability, skills or situation.

About the role

The Basildon, Billericay & Wickford (BBW) Time Bank is growing and we're seeking the support of an Admin Volunteer. The role would include general administrative duties; updating databases, recording new members, sending materials and helping organise events. You could help create new materials (posters/leaflets) and there will be the opportunity to get involved more widely with the project.

It's an exciting time to join the BBW Time Bank; we have an increasing number of volunteers joining the project, offering help to those in need. The project is supported by The Big Lottery.

Skills

Previous administrative experience is not essential but you will need:

- Experience using common Office programmes - Word & Excel in particular

- Willingness to learn new IT systems

- Polite & helpful telephone manner

- Organised and methodical approach to work
