We are looking for volunteers to become Champions with Time to Change.
A Champion is a person with a story regarding mental illness that they have experience personally or encountered through friends or family. By sharing your story with people f2f, social media, events and other scenarios ranging from radio interviews etc..
Your role is to help with the Time to Change Campaign which is a movement to eradicate stigma and discrimination around mental Illness. By sharing your individual stories you help to reduce the overall impression that many people still have.
Your story will be 3 to 5 mins long and will focus on your own personal experience. This could be anything from Depression, Bipolar, Anxiety, to eating disorders or self harm.
Your personal story being told will help others to feel better about their own personal story and maybe encourage them to to take the necessary action to seek help. Alternatively, you will encourage others around you to view Mental Illness from a different perspective and maybe less judgemental.
No qualifications are needed for this role. However, if they do have knowledge of social media Facebook Instagram Blogs etc.. this would be beneficial.
It would be extremely helpful if the person has experience
sharing their story of mental illness or willing to share it. We can provide
