At the Towngate Theatre our aim is not only to attract customers to our professional shows, but to also help the community access the theatre whether that be through the hiring of our venue or volunteering as one of our ushers on the front of house team. We put on over 300 professional and community shows a year and our volunteer ushers work as the heart of the theatre during these shows. We ask our volunteers to welcome visitors to the theatre and make sure they feel welcome whilst also checking they have valid tickets, and aiding them within the auditorium. We ask that our ushers stay in the auditorium to ensure the safety of our visitors and also ensure that our photography and video recording rules are enforced. At the end of the show we ask that our ushers help to see the audience out and clear the auditorium too.
