Would you like to be the Face of Maldon Museum in the Park? As one of our Museum front-of-house team you will probably be the first person to greet visitors on their arrival and the last to say Good-bye as they leave. The lasting impression of their visit will very much depend on you and your contact with them, making them feel welcome and helping them to get the best experience possible.
No two visitors are the same or have the same interests. So you may find yourself answering questions about Maldon; finding information about family members; reminiscing about Maldon past, (the Prom swimming lake and Maldon East station are favourite topics); helping with activities for children in the school holidays or looking after our little shop. You may also find there are some fascinating discussions about local history and Maldon District.
If you decide you would like to be involved in other aspects of running a Museum then there are plenty of opportunities to get involved.
Skills
You need to enjoy meeting and engaging with a very wide variety of people from all walks of life and backgrounds. Be flexible, adaptable and prepared to meet the occasional challenge. Above all an interest in local history and in particular the history of Maldon.
