Opportunity
We need kind, dedicated volunteers to hep support the staff and service users of CHESS, Chelmsford's night shelter for the homeless members of our community.
We need you to become one of our sleep-over volunteers; being an overnight presence for those in distress, supporting staff in the event of an emergency and being a sympathetic, caring presence for service users in the evening and morning. We might also ask you to help serve a hot breakfast.
Full training, induction and support is provided, as a private, lockable room to sleep in. You will be meeting those individuals that need the service of CHESS, and providing support for the CHESS staff member on duty. This role is very rewarding and provides CHESS with a sustainable approach to fulfilling its mission.
Skills
Requirements: Good communication skills, Non-judgmental, Good listener, Good sense of humour.
Full training with a full induction provided.
