From an early age, children and young people have a keen sense of justice. Our team of school volunteers inform and inspire them, helping them to turn their passion for justice into real action. With school volunteers’ input, they learn to care for their global sisters and brothers, both now and as they grow up.
As a school volunteer coordinator you will help to coordinate our volunteers who visit schools to deliver assemblies and interactive classroom sessions. You will be building positive relationships with volunteers and schools, encouraging them to book further visits and to act with CAFOD for a fairer world.
You will help to administer the running of the school volunteer programme; sending letters to schools and volunteers, allocating schools to volunteers and collating the visits to schools. You will also help to monitoring volunteering activity and school visits carrying out some analysis, with the help of staff, of which schools have been visited and which have donated.
Skills
It is not necessary to have previous experience in schools as full support, resources and regular training are provided. However, the ability to communicate with volunteers and schools, or potential and willingness to develop the ability to do is vital.
You should also be comfortable using email and the telephone to communicate with schools and volunteers to organise visits, and to use the internet, Excel and Word and CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system as required.
CAFOD is a Roman Catholic organisation but there is no requirement or expectation that volunteers will be Roman Catholic. We welcome applications from people of all faiths and none. However, an appreciation of our mission and values is essential https://cafod.org.uk/about-us/how-we-work/our-common-home-vision
