Research Network Volunteer

What's involved?

The Network consists of living with dementia, carers and former carers based throughout the United Kingdom. Research Network volunteers are involved in every step of our research programme as ‘experts by experience’ to ensure high quality, relevant research.

The main activity of the Network is to review research applications. Volunteers receive a batch of 4-6 applications, roughly 4 times a year. However, the minimum that Research Network volunteers are expected to do is to review one batch of applications a year. There is a period of 1 - 2 months in which to return your scores and comments.

There are many other ways to be involved in research via the Research Network, depending on your interests and availability. The role is flexible – you can do as much or as little as you would like to.

The impact you'll make

The Research Network gives people with experience of dementia the opportunity to directly influence dementia research projects. As a Research Network volunteer you will help to ensure that the Society invests in research that will make a difference to people affected by dementia.
