We are looking for a safe, competent driver who will be patient and helpful to our Dementia Day Centre clients in Southend. These clients will need to be reassured and made to feel comfortable and safe throughout the journey from their home to their destination at St Luke's Centre (St Luke's Church) in Southend.
This will be a way of 'giving back something to the community' and promises to be extremely rewarding for the successful candidates. We aim to bring back a 'spark', a smile and some laughter to the lives of those living with Dementia. Many of our clients have previously been very isolated socially and have therefore forgotten or lost the will to try again. With your help, we can change this. They will enjoy a sense of achievement and it will ignite those memories of yesteryear.
A clean driving licence covering driving passengers in a minibus. Patience is a virtue and essential when dealing with those living with Dementia. A willingness to keep trying when people do not understand your instructions and assistance. A genuinely caring attitude and a willingness to support these clients during the journey to the centre.
