Outreach Volunteer

At Essex recovery Foundation we are growing a Recovery Community in Essex that is connected, visible, empowered and ready for opportunities!   

The Recovery Community is a combination of people with lived experience of addiction, people affected by someone else addiction and people working within the treatment services who support people who are experiencing addition. 

To do this, we need Outreach volunteers to help us spread the word about the work we are doing at Essex Recovery Foundation.

Role Description:

Are you someone who is keen to spread the word about Essex Recovery Foundation and help us engage people in the Recovery Community who will be part of influencing life changing services. If yes then could you:

• Take part in community events across Essex, talking to the public about addiction, recovery and the opportunities with the Essex Recovery Foundation.
• Help Essex Recovery Foundation with local promotion at community events, on stalls or in districts, for example speaking to community groups about our organisation and activities. 
• Learn about local services such as drug and alcohol treatment providers to be able to signpost people who might want to engage with them.
• Work with staff to deliver awareness workshops at projects to service users
• Attend meetings or sessions in your local area to promote Essex Recovery Foundation
• Be connected to a wider group of Outreach volunteers and happy to promote engagement within the group

Skills

• Have an insight and understanding into knowing what recovery means.
• Confidence in meeting new people, talking and socialising with them

• An Ability to encourage participation and instil confidence in people that you have just met

• Good communication skills
