Occasional Music Tutor

An opportunity support those with learning disabilities helping to develop their interest and capability in music.

City of Chelmsford Mencap wishes to draw on the talents of volunteer music tutors on an occasional basis for its Junior Gateway and gateway Clubs which run, respectively, on Tuesday and Thursday evenings during term time. From to time time , these evening sessions , which last 2 hours, will have a focus on music.

We are looking for volunteers who are enthusiastic about music. The role of volunteers will be to help out with running various workshops as well as supporting and encouraging our members who have a wide range of sensory and communication needs. The music sessions will include singing; involve using various instruments such as percussion and drumming; and feature difference types of music such as choral, reggae and jazz.

Skills

All staff and volunteers are subject to an enhanced DBS check.
