The award-winning Essex Police Museum needs help to welcome groups of children and adults. Working as part of a team you will assist groups such as schools, the Cub Scouts, Brownies and Girl Guides, and adult groups like the WI and U3A, during their visit. You will assist with children's trails, and work with unique and interesting collections and stories. You will serve in the shop and provide a fun environment for the visitors, and promote the museum's services.
Please be aware there is a lengthy vetting process for this role (9-12 months) unless you already have current Police vetting.
Experience of working with the general public and children.
Confident with good communication skills.
It is NOT necessary to have any police or history knowledge or experience.

When can I volunteer?

Minimum once a month - visits can be 1.5 hrs to 4 hours depending on the group / type of visit. Volunteers are notified of dates and times of visits approaching and they can choose which dates they can attend.
