Mini Bus Driver

The Lambourne End Outdoor Centre works with young people in a creative way to promote self-esteem, independence and skills for life. It is set in 54 acres of open countryside and includes a working farm, fruit and vegetable gardens, conference and training room facilities, conservation and woodland areas and en-suite accommodation for groups. L.E. offers a range of personal development and informal education programmes using outdoor activities as well as farm and environmental activities. L.E. is open throughout the year with the aim of helping young people build a future.

In this role you would collect and deliver individuals and groups who have booked to use the Centre, usually short 30 minute journeys. You would be asked to carry out safety checks and routine maintenance on minibuses and report any issues. You would contribute to a small team of drivers, according to your availability, which helps the Centre meet the needs of visiting groups. One of the biggest factors restricting individuals and groups visiting the Centre is transport. Therefore the role of minibus driver is vital as it enables people to access the various programmes at the Centre.

There are regular daily and weekly pick-ups. There are also frequent one-off trips. Most young people coming to the Centre are excited and well-behaved. Most groups will have a supervisor in charge, and if there is any likelihood of challenging behaviour we would ensure a member of staff accompanies you to enable you to concentrate on driving.

A full clean driving license and aged over 25 to be covered by our insurance. The capability to work alongside people from diverse backgrounds and with varying abilities. You would need to be sociable and enjoy meeting different people. You would need to be reliable as many individuals and groups depend on our transport to access the Centre.
