Minibus Driver

VAEF  Befriending Service for older people aims to provide support, friendship and short respite for informal carers and those living on their own in isolation both in the client's home and on trips out.

As a volunteer driver you will be ensuring that all our lovely customers are collected and transported to the club safely and of course taken back home again after. We have clubs in North Weald , Waltham Abbey , Lougthon and Chigwell and trips out every forthnight.

You will find this a very rewarding and fulfilling role as you form a trusting and supportive relationship offering a smile, a listening ear and much needed support helping them on and off the bus.

To ensure passenger safety, MIDAS training is available

Skills

This role will involve collecting the community mini bus from its location and working from a passenger list to establish your route. You will be assisted by a chaperone who will help clients on and off the bus and remain on the bus with you.
