Catering Assistants

Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome offers unique volunteering experiences in a unique place. SMGWA are working to develop the site into one of the premier visitor attractions in Essex and their volunteers are playing a vital part in making this happen.

SMGWA are looking for volunteers for catering roles in the atmospheric Airmen's Mess, their unique food outlet. As well as catering for regular visitors, SMGWA often host coach parties and other groups of varying size.

Come and join this catering team under the friendly management of their experienced Kitchen Supervisor.


No previous skills are required, only a willingness to learn basic till management, cash handling, customer service and, for kitchen based volunteers, Food Hygiene knowledge.

SMGWA holds regular recruitment sessions which include back stage tours of the site.

Training is provided for all volunteering roles.

Hours are flexible but include weekends, when the Aerodrome is busiest, and some evenings.
