Following the hugely successful Gaia event in 2022, Chelmsford Cathedral are pleased to announce another Luke Jerram installation: Mars: War & Peace.
This amazing installation will be running over a three-week period and will are looking for volunteers to support the event, with morning, afternoon and evening sessions available.
Tue 21 Oct through to Wed 12 November 2025
During the 3 weeks we will be having a variety of events, performances and concerts as well as half-term children’s activities. It’s a great opportunity to help deliver this amazing event in the heart of Chelmsford.
Volunteers will be welcoming people in, telling them about the exhibit, and helping us set-up & run the performances and activities.
We are also looking for local artists and musicians to perform during the event, so if you would like to be involved please also make contact using the details below.
Skills
Exhibition hosts need to be welcoming, friendly, patient, and compassionate, with good communication and inter-personal skills.
Volunteers do not need prior experience to be an exhibition host, but they will need to be confident directing visitors, keeping them informed of the event, and answering any question or concerns that they may have.
It is also important that exhibition hosts can work in a team, take instructions, and follow any guidance given to them.
Volunteers will be working alongside other staff and volunteers during the sessions and may need to complete tasks together if an issue arises.
