Lunch Club Cooking Support Volunteer

The Lunch Club@ Plantation Hall is a planned weekly lunch club for mainly older people who are socially isolated. Run by Heybridge Parish Council, they are looking for people who enjoy cooking home style meals to support the club on a regular basis. You will have support from support from our lovely volunteer kitchen assistants. 

You will not be expected to cook every week, this is a flexible role and will be shared between a few volunteers. 

The club provides social interaction, a cooked 2 course meal and activities for its guests each week. 

Volunteer Cooks are needed to help out at the club by preparing / cooking Homestyle meals at each session. 

Typical meals include - Sausage & Mash, Cottage pie, Casseroles etc.

The club takes place every Thursday 10am-2.30pm at the Plantation Hall in Heybridge, with lunch served at about 12pm for approx. 40 guests.

The guests are offered Homestyle traditional meals.

Skills

 The skills needed for this role are:

- Having a keen interest in cooking.

- Hold a Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate or being willing to achieve this

- Ability to work as part of a team
