We recruit and train Parent Volunteers who support emotionally low parents, who are struggling to cope with everyday problems or with getting out of the house.
By recruiting local parents, we give them the opportunity to volunteer, through receiving training and support, thus improving their confidence, knowledge and skills. Our volunteers support the families for 2 to 3 hours per week. Your offer of time and support, as a volunteer, can mean the world to a family. Becoming a parent, whether it's the first or fourth time, can be an isolating experience. There are so many unspoken pressures that we all need help with time to time.
Our Home-Visiting volunteers come from many different backgrounds and vary in age but all must be either parents or have parenting experience.
