Do you have a love of reading and storytelling?
Can you help help spark a young child's love of reading?
Can you bring stories and rhymes to life through your enthusiasm?
We are seeking responsible, enthusiastic volunteers who can help us launch and run a new Parents & toddlers group at the our Community Bookshop
Working in a team of 2 or 3, volunteers will help with:
- Setting up chairs, mats, and books for the session and clearing up afterwards
- Welcoming in parents and children, helping to get the little ones settled and keeping an eye out for concerns or upset
- Helping lead a storytime and nursery rhyme session, encouraging the children to learn through repetition and imagination.
- Helping parents select a book to take home.
- Being a responsible adult making sure everyone is safe and happy
This is a really lovely new role that the right volunteers can really make their own.
The club will run on Monday or Tuesday mornings 10.00pm to 11.30pm, with volunteers arriving earlier and leaving later to help with set-up & tidying-up.
