Help needed at the Dunmow Dementia Cafe

The Uttlesford Dementia Action Alliance are starting a Dunmow Dementia Café that will offer an informal opportunity for carers and people who are living with dementia to meet other people in a similar situation, chat and drink tea and coffee in a safe and welcoming environment. In addition carers will be able to access peer to peer support and information from guest speakers on what additional supports are available as some living with or caring for some with dementia.

We are therefore seeking Volunteers who could commit to 2 to 3 hours per week to support the running of this much needed resource for local people in need. You do not need to attend regularly each week, although that would be helpful.

If you are someone who would be interested in volunteering, have an interest in supporting people living with dementia and their carers, have a friendly and empathetic character, comfortable to chat to users, are a good listener, happy to set up the café, serve refreshments and help clear up, then we would like to hear from you.
