Guide Leader – 1st Buckhurst Hill Guides

Opportunity

Would you like to work with girls and young women to make a difference in your community while developing your skills and making new friends? Volunteering with Girlguiding could be for you!

As a Guide leader you will work as part of a team to plan and organise activities for girls aged 10 -14 years old. Guides take part in a wide range of exciting activities at their regular meetings, and at special events or holidays. Guides are given the chance to explore their individual skills and abilities and try out new challenges as part of a team. Girls can get involved in anything from adventure sports to performing arts, travel and taking part in community action projects.

You will be required to commit to attending meetings on a weekly basis as adult to child ratios must be maintained.

In return, we offer everyone support, specialised training and the opportunity to develop new skills, meet new people and have fun. As a new leader you will be supported to complete the Girlguiding Leadership Qualification, most of which is all about doing things with the girls during meetings. Many women have found this experience invaluable to include on their CV when applying for further education placements, and on job applications.
