We are looking for a volunteer to support at our Basildon based Club4U group for adults with disabilities.
The group meets once a week on Tuesday evenings between 5pm – 7pm. 3 weeks each month they meet at Basildon United Reformed Church Hall, where they do activities such as playing cards or board games, arts and crafts or puzzles and sports activities. One week each month the group agree on an outing or activity to do in the community, examples of previously enjoyed activities include Bowling, daytrips to Southend and Clacton, meals out at local restaurants and trips to the theatre.
The volunteer would be asked to help support our clients to participate in the activities encourage them to interact with other group members and help to organise the activities (such as set up board games, assist with craft activities and helping with refreshments).
All our volunteers are able to reclaim their expenses incurred whilst volunteering for BATIAS, this includes travel expenses and reasonable expenses for taking part in the activities with the group.
Whilst we do not require any previous qualifications to become a BATIAS volunteer, we do ask that volunteers agree to take part in Safeguarding training, and where appropriate first aid training.
Applicants need to complete a DBS and provide 2 referees as part of their application process.
