Greenteam Volunteers

The Harlow Greenteam is a group of volunteers supported by Harlow Council, who work for nature conservation and management tasks to enhance biodiversity in and around Harlow. Their aim is to improve the environment for wildlife, nature conservation, and recreation and to improve public access to the countryside. Tasks vary throughout the year and are very dependant upon the weather. For instance during the autumn and winter work includes coppicing, pollarding, and tree planting. During the spring and summer they plant wild flowers, scrub control, build bridges, steps, and boardwalks, and even make charcoal. They work primarily on Harlow's nature reserves, local wildlife sites and public open spaces, but also occasionally on sites outside the Town working in partnership with other volunteer groups.
