An exciting versatile gardening project is underway at the Brentwood Centre, would you like to be a part of it?
We are creating a community garden within our centre specifically to increase volunteering, community cohesion and social wellbeing and we need willing volunteers of all ages and all walks of life to help make it happen!
The garden will boast a sensory aspect, edible garden, grow for wildlife and an education element.
We are looking for individuals not only for one off project days but also someone that would like to regularly maintain our garden, it can be an individual or if you are part of a group to share the load that would be great too!
A garden is not something that can be created overnight and be left alone - it needs to be cared for and maintained!
A project is underway at the centre to create a community garden solely to increase volunteering in the area as well as improving general community cohesion and we need volunteers to help maintain the garden as we go through the different stages of development.
An ideal candidate for this opportunity will be able to give up regular time throughout their week to:
Tidy rubbish from flower beds
Check progress of plants growing in the garden
Weeding flower beds and garden area
General presentation of the garden as a whole
Regular time can mean anything from 1 hour a week to 1 hour a day and anything in between, so do not think sparing only a little of your time will of no benefit.
This gardening project is open to everyone regardless of skill level and qualifications, we are an inclusive
centre and so will the garden be so please get in contact if you think you can be of ‘any’ help!
If you do have specific skills in gardening and or horticulture of any kind that would be great as we will have
